Qualitative detection of blood in stool – New: simply at home!
Colon cancer is one of the most common cancers in Europe. It develops discreetly, often without causing discomfort and over years. A side effect is bleeding that is hidden in the stool. The first FOB test, approved as a home test, detects even the smallest amounts of this occult blood in the stool. In this way, colon cancer can be detected and treated at an early stage.

Occult blood alarm sign
Polyps that can develop into cancer, colon inflammation, diverticulitis, fissures and colon cancer in the colon and rectum have very fine and sensitive blood vessels. They are so sensitive that just walking through the stool could injure you and shed small amounts of blood. The quantities are so small that they cannot be seen with the naked eye. FOB test uses specific antibodies to detect the smallest amount of occult blood.
50 ng / ml hemoglobin or 2 μg hemoglobin / g stool are sufficient for the test procedure to provide reliable results.
FOB-Test recognizes only human hemoglobin via a specific antibody reaction. Therefore, there are no dietary requirements to be observed prior to the test procedure. If a stool sample contains hemoglobin, a highly specific antibody reaction in the test cassette indicates this in color.
